Hailing from Zambia's Southern Province and with a home in the capital of Lusaka, Mwaka Mwitangeti has joined the Kasaka team at the start of 2011 as Assistant Manager following a successful season at Chongwe River Camp.
An unlikely “bush boy” Mwaka had a successful career in Lusaka as a marketing manager for a major television production company before deciding that he needed a drastic change from city life and the corporate arena.
“I wanted to experience a different part of my homeland and decided that the bush was where I needed to be to ‘connect’ to the land of my birth,” he says. “It’s the best decision I have made so far!” he grins.
Mwaka enjoys his new home and is learning everything he can about the bush and the creatures which call it home. In the process he is fast becoming one of the Lower Zambezi’s most passionate conservationists.
